Designer Felted Purse or Project Bag

Experience Level: Beginner

Class Description: You being the designer! This is a great beginner project. You will be able to choose whether you would like to make a purse or that new tote bag for all your new knitting projects!

Supplies needed:

· Approx. 650 yards of worsted-weight wool or wool blend that will felt. Avoid white as it does not felt very well. Heavy worsted yarn will make a larger bag, a light worsted will make a smaller bag. Sample bag was done in Lambs Pride Worsted, a smaller bag could be done in Brown Sheep Nature Spun. Yarn used will determine size of bag.

· Circular needle size 10.5 or 11 in 24" length. Gauge = approx. 14 stitches and 20 rows for 4" (gauge does not need to be exact, but avoid a tighter gauge; looser stitches will result in better felting).

· Four stitch markers, one being a different color from the rest.

· Dowel rod and wooden bead to cover ends (finishing only).
