Entrelac Baby Blanket or Scarf
One 3-hour session · $30
(project materials not included)
Experience Level: Advanced Beginner
Class Description: Learn the entrelac technique, including how to knit backwards. You will design and create your own pattern in class. Make a baby blanket, lap blanket, full-size afghan or scarf.
Supplies needed:
You can choose to do a baby blanket, or a smaller project for this class. A baby blanket will take approximately 200 yards each of six colors of worsted-weight yarn, or 1200 yards total of any combination of colors.
In class, we will be doing a sample gauge swatch while learning the Entrelac technique. With that in mind, bring yarn you plan to use for your project and several different needle sizes.
Project can be anything that is square, or rectangle (e.g., scarf, pillow cover, afghan, baby blanket). Shaping/sizing will be discussed briefly as you can also knit entrelac in the round or flat for sleeves, hats, and garments. We will also cover knitting backwards, but you can turn and purl if you wish.
Instructions for the gauge swatch and the baby blanket pattern will be provided in class.
